The Gyro Sportsman’s Dinner made the front page of the local newspaper … Congratulations to President Joey Ocsovai and all those who helped make this event a huge success.
Our club held the Gyro Stag & Sportman’s Dinner on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the Royal Canadian Legion.
The Sportsman’s Dinner has not been held for many years so this year we decided to combine it with our traditional annual Stag and host one big event.
Many thanks to the Chef’s Harry Ocsovai and Andrew Eastman plus all of the Gyro Ladies and guests who once again were amazing in preparing a fantastic spread of food, feeding all in attendance making this event another success.
Thanks to guest speaker Dave Babych for travelling to Kitimat and speaking to the enthusiastic crowd and answering the many questions fielded from throughout the hall.
Thanks to Twin Peaks Brewing for arranging for and setting up the 2 kegs of fresh beer that allowed guests to taste the Blonde Ale from Kitimat’s new local Brewery.
Thanks to Malt Ventures and Dave Babych for donating the door prizes.
Last but not least thanks to the crowd of over 160 in attendance. This is the largest attendance in recent years and your continued support is greatly appreciated.
We were able to raise just approximately $4,000 which will be contributed to donations made within the community by our club over the remaining calendar year.
A message from the president:
Hello Fellow Gyro’s and Gyrettes,
Holy shit, we pulled it off. Six months in the works came down to this event. The event was a great success. Thank you to all for coming together to make this a great night and to make a statement that the Kitimat Gyro Club are still alive and well.
Hopefully we can carry the momentum into our Grey Cup Stag in November.
Cheers !!
